MrWork is the perfect tool for harnessing the power of social media for your recruitment effort. We met MrWork when they were transitioning towards a full SaaS product. Like any other company, this comes with challenges. The platform wasn’t user‑friendly enough, new clients required considerable assistance with onboarding, and users felt indecisive, needing much help from support.
Complex product transformation
Complex products are our specialty, specifically the ‘SaaSification’ of digital products is our bread and butter! We’ve done it dozens of times. But before we can do our magic, we need input from the user as well as from the business. Leveraging this information and our expertise, we started to enhance user flows and the overall experience.
An integrated, highly collaborative process
We team up with the product team to both enhance existing apps and create new features and products from the ground up. To stay in sync and keep our efforts aligned, we follow a collaborative and intergraded approach that includes:
- Daily check-in meetings
- Weekly user experience (UX) discussions
- Ongoing improvements
This way, we make sure everyone is on the same page and focused on the same goals.
The 80% rule, for fast development
Our design process is based on sprints and focuses on specific features. We work in short sprints, each lasting about two to four weeks. During each sprint, we concentrate on specific features or improvements that add value for the business and their users.
We believe in constant improvement, so after each sprint, we review our work and look for ways to make it better. To do this, we first design the best possible version of a feature or product. Then, we scale it back to an 80% version. This approach helps us release useful features faster and continuously improve them over time.
By following this process, we ensure that our designs are practical, effective, and always getting better.
From functional to worldclass design
The platform was functional but limited, allowing users to find information, create new groups, and use a few other features. However, as the user base grew, their expectations evolved. They began to demand more personalized experiences, more powerful tools, and more efficient management options. In response, the product rapidly expanded in terms of features, all crafted with simplicity and intuitive design at their core.
Recognizing the need to align the platform’s visual appeal with its growing feature set, our designers initiated a comprehensive visual design upgrade. This marked the beginning of a new visual era that resonated with the world-class quality of the product, enabling MrWork to truly differentiate itself from the competition.
Ensuring Consistency: The Need for a Robust Design System Across Multiple Products
To ensure consistency across the product, we developed a comprehensive design system. This system not only maintains uniformity in our designs but also fosters better alignment and collaboration with the development team. By having a shared set of guidelines and standards, we can work more efficiently, faster and cohesively.
